Matt Olmstead
Voice

Matt Olmstead comes to the Cady School of Music with an extensive a cappella background. Currently, he is the bassist and co-creator of the professional vocal rock group, The Fault Line. Since the group began in 2006, they have received numerous awards and accolades. These include Cornell University's Lauren Pickard Award for Emerging Artists, First Place and Audience Favorite at the 2007 Harmony Sweepstakes Regional competition in NYC, and a spot in the top 20 finalists on Season 2 of NBC's America's Got Talent.

Matt's B.S. in Music Education from the College of Saint Rose has been an asset while leading a cappella workshops at various schools throughout the country. Workshop topics include vocal technique, a cappella composition, music business, stage presence, vocal improvisation and vocal percussion. Prior to The Fault Line, Matt sang with the professional a cappella group, Sons of Pitches and his alma mater's group, The Other Guys. While at Saint Rose, he also performed in the College's Masterworks Chorale, Chamber Singers, Madrigal Singers and Men's Glee Club.

Matt holds a Professional New York State Public School Teacher Certificate in Music.
