Greg is currently on leave from the Cady School to pursue full-time graduate studies, but hopes to return between semesters to hold masterclasses or Jazz Night.
Greg Danis has been playing saxophone for over 13 years. A recent graduate of the State University of New York College at Fredonia, he holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education
and currently teaches music theory at the Berkshire Union Free High School. Over the years Greg has had the privilege of studying with Michael Ried, John Bacon, Mark Beaubriand and Bruce Johnstone. An active member in the Albany and Buffalo area music communities, Greg has performed and recorded with numerous groups, including The Crosstown Connectors, The Erica Seguine Jazz Orchestra, The Dave Strumfeld Group, and Maria Y Los Bomberos.
While studying at Fredonia he also directed and played in a student-run big band, The Weapons of Jazz Destruction.
After spending the past four years in Western New York, Greg is excited to have returned to his hometown of Albany and is happy to be working at The Cady School.
